On the road, er, track, again. « Thread Started on Feb 24, 2008, 8:02pm »
“Come on, dad. Let go already!” Arineaira told her father. He was hugging her so tight that she could hardly breath. He smiled and let go of her. Having not been able to breath for a minute, she took in a deep breath. “Thank you.” she smiled. She always loved her father’s hugs. They were the best. Next to, of course, her mother’s hugs. But, she could hardly remember them. So long it had been since she had last seen her mother.
“Be good” Jake Taliphillia said. A worried look lingered in his eyes. It was always there, when she left for Hogwarts. He missed her so much when she went away to school. Sometimes, he wished he could go with her. But, she had explained that that was quite impossible.
“Dad. When am I ever bad?” she joked.
He smiled down at her. “Very true. Just be careful. Ok?” he said to her.
The warning whistle rang. She had to get on the train soon. “Dad. I gotta go. Bye!” she said to him and hugged him quickly. She grabbed up her stuff and looked at him once more. “I’ll be sure to write!”
“You promise to be careful?” he called after her. When she didn’t answer, he shook his head a bit. “Teenagers” her murmured. He walked from the crowd of people, and through the way he had came. Leaving behind his only daughter. Oh how he would miss her.
Once Arineaira had left her father, she fought her way through the messy maze of wizards and witches and their children. Some first years, looking extremely nervous. And others seventh years, looking extremely excited and some of them rather sad. That was, after all, their last year going to Hogwarts. But she wasn’t one of them. Oh no. This was only her 6th, second to last, year. It was just another train ride to her home away from home for her.
A loud horn sounded. The signal that the train would soon depart. Lucky for her, she had just reached the train. “Hello old friend” she said to the train. Talking to a train could be viewed as insane bye some people. But not her. A smiled came to her face as she clambered onto the train.
Almost all the compartments were full. She walked up the hallway, in search for an empty compartment that she and her friends could sit in and chat about their summers. Finally, she reached an empty room. It was a while away from where she got onto the train, and yet still far from the back. She had never been this far back. She shrugged it off, and entered the room. After stowing away her possessions that she was carrying, she sat down near the window, one of her favorite spots, and waited for any of her friends to come and sit with her.

She was pushed threw the magical wall between the Muggle trainstation, King's Cross, and onto Platform 9 3/4. "What'd you do that for, mum?" she asked her mother angerily once she had appeared. Her mother didn't answer, she just kept pushing Bella along and threw the mess of adults. "Stop!" she protested. "Stop pushing me!"
"Do you want to be late getting on the train?" Mrs. Laskan asked and stiared at her daughter. She turned her head from side to side saying 'No'. "Good. Now, come on. By the rate you're walking, you'll be late for sure."
"Mum! The train dosen't leave for another ten minutes or so!" she replied.
"So what? Do you want to sit in a compartment with people you don't know?" her mother asked. Bella staied slient, knowing that it was a lost cause. "Didn't think so. Now, get on the train!"
"But, Mum. Where's Dad? He's always here to show me off." Bella commented and looked at her mother.
"He couldn't come. He got tied up at the Ministry trying to work something out." she said and waved her said, pushing the matter aside. "Ok, I want you to be..."
"...to be careful and watch what you're doing. Don't do anything stupid and stay out of trouble." she said along with her mother. She had heard thoes same lines for a few years now and she had long since memorized them. They would come in letters, reminders. She once found a little stick-it note in the inside of her trunk saying thoes exact lines. "I know. Now, can I go?"
Her mother smiled. "Yes. You can go. And have fun!" she shouted after her daughter.
Bella walked away from her mother as soon as she heard the words 'You can go'. She pushed her way threw the crowd and up the the train, her trolley tailing behind her. As soon as she reached the train, she smiled at it. Even though she had last seen it only a few months ago, it seemed like forever. She stepped up onto the steps and heaved on her trunk. She wondered what her mother had packed that made it so heavy. 'Probably a whole bunch of post-its saying to be careful and stay out of trouble' she thought and smiled at it. That was just like her mother; to pack her daughters trunk with a million reminders to do what she always did.
With a sign, Bella continued up the trian. She peered into all the compartments. All of them were full except for one with a girl in it. Bella continued, she had no idea who the girl was and wan't going to bother her. The compartment right next to the unknown girl was open. Bella pulled the door open and stepped in. She pulled her trunk with her, and lifted it up onto the luggage rack. With a sign of relife, she sat down on the seat nearest the window, and peered out it. The platform was packed with people. Witches and Wizards dressed up to look like muggles, but not really pulling it off. Students who had yet to board the train jumped when they heard the warning whistle. They all hurried to get on the train. Another sigh. She still haddn't spotted any of her friends. "I wish they would come soon..." she murmeered and leaned her head against the window.

King's Cross Station. Dominique looked up at the massive place, fanning away the smog from her face and coughed, the family of five bobbing towards the Platform. Dom shook a lock of golden hair out of her face and behind her ear. Pushing her cart loaded with her cat, Delilah, who was in a cage, and a nice big leather trunk with DW engraved in exaggerated pink letters. Victoire blazed the trail as Louis stayed behind - getting some cotton candy before the three of them set off. Dominique's Dad and Mère were in the middle, making sure Louis didn't get lost but Victoire didn't get to far away. Dominique, wanting a treat, but not wanting to stay behind, found a happy medium that she could get some candy on the beautiful crimson train that went over the green rolling hills. Quite picturesque, it was, and she sometimes could not be peeled from the window pane.
Soon enough, Victoire made a sharp turn to the Platform 9¾ that she knew so well and would be passing through the barrier once again. Pushing her way through the dense crowd, Dominique met up with her sister close to the barrier. Soon enough, a redheaded man and a blonde woman emerged from the clumps of people about. Fleur strode straight up to Dominique, she had assumed her Mother would say something sentimental about Vic's last year, or something. But she kept walking towards Dominique. "Dominique," she started, "You promis' to be good 'zis year?" Dominique smiled, although her mother's tone was serious. "Take care of Louis. And make sure zhat Victoire does not get in any trouble." Dominique nodded quickly, although she didn't know why her Mum had laid all this pressure on her all of a sudden. "Thank you, Dominique. Your 'elp is very much appreciated, mon chéri." She leaned over to give her daughter a kiss on the forehead. "Don't worry, Mère, I won't let you down." "Zhat is my girl. Now, go have a great year. I know you will not get in any trouble." Dominique hugged her mother, as Louis came rushing up from behind, with a cotton candy mustache. Dominique laughed and went to her Dad, and gave him a gargantuan hug, and he whispered in her ear, "Be good, sweetie." "Love you, Dad!" Dominique returned as she waved goodbye to both her parents as they gave a last minute farewell to Louis, and scampered off to walk through the brick wall. Through the wall they entered, and quickly boarded the scarlet Hogwarts Express, pulling up her trunk and Delilah. All of the compartments appeared full, which disappointed Dominique, who was hoping to see all of her friends, and Joe - who she had been crushing on since the end of last year. She peered into the last compartment. Arineaira was sitting there, who she was formerly an enemy with, but had become friends with. Dominique poked her head in the compartment, feeling a tiny bit homesick already, but looking out the train window to see her parents staring back at her and she grinned and waved. "Mind if I sit here, Arineaira?"

The Anderson's were making there way though the crowded station or at least the Younger Three Anderson's were. Finally the two 14 year olds and the 22 year old reached the barrier between platforms 9 and 10. "Well Kel,Kev I have to go now have fun at school and sorry Mum and Dad couldn't make it," The male said kissing the 14 year old female on the cheek and giving the other male a firm hand shake before he made his way back though the station.
"Platform Nine and Three-quarters here we come," the male said pulling the female through the barrier behind him. At last the two stood on the magical platform and hurried towards the scarlet train as the whistle sounded shrilly from the head of the train. Dragging their heavy trunk behind them the Anderson twins made their way through the train glancing in the crowded compartments giving a cheery wave to people they knew. "Kev, where do you suppose Joe is?" The female questioned apporching a compartment that only contained one lone 5th year Gryffindor in it.
"Mind If we join you?" The Twins asked in unison to Bella Lasken. Both had blond hair and round blue eyes. They were both 5'4" and of a slender medium frame. Though the females hair was longer and she happened to be wearing a snug white butterfly patterened shirt and a blue jean skirt. While the male was wearing blue jeans and a blue t-shirt with a Dragon design on it. If one was a Gryffindor and in any year they would reconize these two pranksters right away.
Yes It was indeed Kelly and Kevin Anderson. The 4th year Trouble markers of Hogwarts School of witchcraft and Wizardry. Sometimes it was a wonder how anyone could stand the Anderson Twins.

Ok ok! I'm redoing the post.
She placed her quill down, having finished writing in her journal. She looked around, the crowd of people was as large as ever. But this time, it was slightly smaller. All the students had hurried onto the Express as the whistle had blown for the last time. People walking down the long corridor looked into her compartment. Always frowing at the site of not knowing her, they continued to walk down the hall. Everyone walked pass her, except for one person.
"Mind if I sit here, Arineaira?"
Someone said from the door. Arineaira looked at it and spotted Dominique Weasley with the sliding door open, leanding against the frame. Arineaira smiled at Dominique and nodded. "Sure" she said and guestured for her to come in. There was sort of an... awkward air when she walked in. Even though they were friends, there was still that past. The past of their history of being enemys from the first year to the begging of the first year. Even thoug that was in the not-so-distance past, they still had that history. And history dosen't easily evaporate.

Dominique made a sort of half smile and toddled in, taking the seat across from Arineaira. Her pale pink trunk contrasted strangely with the dark seats. Smoothing out her blonde hair, Dominique swung open her cat Delilah's cage. The young cat was white, except for a brown splotch right on her left eye, as she hopped into Dom's lap obediently. The cat let out a long purr and looked up at Arineaira with her oval green eyes. ❝Are you okay with having her out? Are you allergic?❞ Dominique said, making a vague finger gesture to Delilah. She began to stroke the cat quickly, gathering her up in her arms and hugging her. Dominique made another quick glance out the window to see if her mother and father had gone, and the two had disappeared. She felt a small pang of homesickness, but looked back to her friend, who used to be her enemy, and there was still a little bit cumbersome to have a conversation with her. Dominique didn't mind. She talked enough for the two of them. ❝So, how was your summer?❞; She thought of it only polite to bring up. She knew about Arineaira's mother's death and everything – but she didn't know her well enough to actually talk about it. Her life was pretty peachy keen compared to some people. Dominique couldn't deny that. Her summer was good, pretty much catching up with some muggle neighbors that were her age that lived by and constantly asking why she had to go to boarding school and talking about some boy named Aaron who was supposably "yummilicious," Dominique almost died. She wished she could talk about her crush, but it wasn't really.... she shouldn't. They would get bored, probably, but not as much as she dreaded being near the yammering away two girls. When they didn't talk so much about people, things and places Dominique didn't know, Carly and Tara were fun. Dominique realized how lost in her thoughs she was, so she focused her frozen sapphire eyes back to Arineaira, who hadn't spoke yet.

Are you okay with having her out? Are you allergic? she asked and guestured to the cat.
Arineaira shook her head. "No, I'm fine." she said. In truth, she was allergic. But that didn't really matter so long as she didn't accually touch the cat. She had always loved cats. Though, her allergy made it rather hard for her to own one. 'Always look, and don't touch' her father would aways say. He, of course, could aways touch. She had enharrated her allergy from her dead mother. Just the sheer memory of her mother made her heart ache. Yeah, it was over 7 years ago. But she still felt the pain of only having one parent. And she was sure her father felt that pain too. It had never been eaisy for him to bring up a energetic outgoing girl. But, he always seemed to manage. And, look at her now. In Ravenclaw, on her way to her 5th year at Hogwarts.
So, how was your summer?
"Oh, my summer was as same as always. My father brought me about the country and we visited my family. I guess the muggles would call it a Family Reunion. We have one every year. Well, we will, at least. This was the first year. Everyone enjoyed themselves so much we decided to make it a Taliphillia tridition." she said and glanced out the window. The train was finally pulling out of the station and started to pick up speed. People were still walking up and down the halls. She predicted more and more people would ask to come in and sit, but that would be in the future. For now, she put her head back on the seat and closed her eyes. After a few seconds, she realized that she haddn't asked Dominique how her summer was. Realizing her moment of rudeness, she asked the question "How was you're summer? I've heard the Weasley summers can be pretty fun".

"We always have a big party with the whole family, and I love seeing my cousins," Dominique said, a reminiscent smile pasted across her delicate features. "But we all have things to do and go seperate ways after the first couple weeks. I did see my cousin Rose quite a lot this summer though. We live pretty close, so Dad can drive us there in about 20 minutes. Louis and Hugo are the same age, so they get along, too." Dominique realized she was blabbering like Carly and Tara did, so she shut up promptly. She was guilty of the crime of talking too much, something she had never been proud of. Dominique stroked Delilah.
The old lady who had been in charge of taking the trolley through the train for Merlin knows how long came walking down the aisle and slid open the compartment door. "Any candy, dears?" She asked, looking down at the two. Dominique smiled. "Yes, I'll have a chocolate frog and Bertie Bott's Every Flavored Beans," she handed a galleon to the lady who took it and gave her the candy. Tearing open the Chocolate Frog wrapper, she took a nibble out of the frog's toe.

Dominique talked about her summer. How she spent time with her family near the beginning of the summer, then sorta dispersed from her family. How she had spent time with her cousin, Rose. Arineaira never really minded other people. IT kept her mind from wandering. But, that always seemed to happen anyway. She always had that difficulty: never being able to concentrate for to long. But, she had long since mastered looking like she was paying attention.
Another voice spoke. This one was warn and old sounding. Arineaira turned around and spotted the old woman who pushed the food trolley. "Any candy, dears?" she had said.
"Ummm..." she trialled off. She stood up and went to look at what she had on the trolley. It was parked directly outside the compartment and people from further up the train, that had missed it, were all flooding to it to get food. She recognized a few, but really didn't say hello. She was to mesmerized on how much food there was. Berty Bot's Ever Flavored Beans. Drouble's Best Blowing Gum. Liqurious Wand. Every magical candy you could imagine, and a few you would never imagine, were there. She had never seen so much magical food in one place. "Wow" she murmured and just took a few Chocolate Frogs and pack of Berty Bot's Every Flavored Beans. She payed for the food and went back in. The people from around the cart stayed, and followed the trolley as it went on.
"I wonder who I'll get." she wondered aloud and ripped the package open. One of the most famous Headmasters of Hogwarts was staring up at her. She smiled down at it, and turned it over. She read and reread it, until she had memorized it. Arineaira looked up from it and smiled again. She held it up and said "I got Dumbledore."

“Remember, Rose, this is…” “The year I take my OWLs, I know Mum.” “And don’t forget to—” “Watch Hugo like a hawk, yes Dad.” “Oh and just have fun, Rosey.” “I’ll be sure to, Aunt Ginny.” “If anyone bothers you…” “Remind them you’re my uncle. Of course, Uncle Harry.”
Vibrant red locks fell down her face as she hugged all four of them, running onto the scarlet train. “I’ll see you during Holidays!” She yelled out the window as the engine began to move, and their faces disappeared on the spot. Her blue eyes lit up as she saw some familiar faces.
“Hey Rose!” “Wotcher, Rosey!” “ROSE-A-LOSE!”
She hugged, greeted and talked to everyone who ran up to her. But she couldn’t wait too see her cousins. Of course she had seen them throughout the summer, but even a day apart and she begins to miss them. Rose shook her head backwards, looking in each compartment for a family face. Rolling her eyes at her brother and his friends, she looked into another compartment, laughing as she heard a familiar voice pour out from within. Yes, I'll have a chocolate frog and Bertie Bott's Every Flavored Beans.
“Domini!” Rose laughed, sticking her head into the compartment. “Haven’t seen you in… what? A week?!” She said, sitting next to her. She looked up at the girl. Arineaira Taliphillia, was it? She had heard quite a lot about the girl over the summer. Ah yes – Dominique had mentioned once or twice her great desire to hex the girl. Oh but that was ages ago. Everything was all well and good. Rose lifted her trunk onto the shelf, and sat down again, smiling at Arineaira. “'lo, I’m Rose. Rose Weasley, nice to meet you.” She said, giving her a toothy grin.
It was great to be back.
“So, I expect you got Hugo’s letter…he’s found himself a fangirl!” Rose joked, laughing heartily as she remembered the details. “I think it was a Hufflepuff…but you’ll have to ask him. Sent him letters like mad! I thought she’d drown the house in letters.”

“Domini!”
Dominique jerked her head in the direction of the voice, which she instantly recognized one of her favorite cousins, Rose. She beamed at the redhead, peeling the card from her chocolate frog wrapper. Her pure blue eyes flitted the the picture. It was her uncle, Ron Weasley, Rose's dad. He had gotten his picture on the chocolate frog card for his bravery and what not in the Battle of Hogwarts so many years ago. "Rosie! I got your dad!" Dom said, waving the card to her eye level, also giving her a one armed hug. "I believe it has been a week! Feels like forever, though!" She replied, sitting back down with her cousin. Dominique listened to her tell about Hugo, and the Hufflepuff fangirl he had obtained. Ah, they could do so many things. Ideas flashed through Dominique's mind, all through the spectrum of simply humiliating him, or talking to her and telling baby stories. "What do you say, Rose-a-lose? Mortification in the future for Hugo? As long as we tie Louis to a chair so he doesn't come and be all defensive on him. They're as close as we are," Domini retorted, vague hand movements accompanying the statement. Delilah mewed and slipped back on to her place on her lap. Mewing adorably, Dominique giggled. Her kitten had always wanted to be the center of attention.
"Oh, Arineaira. This is my cousin, Rose. The one I was just telling you about how much time I spent with her this Summer," Dominique nodded to Rose, smiling with her upper teeth clamped on her lower lip. "I think we can continuing threatening to hug Hugo. He'll absolutely be thrilled about that." Dom's voice was full of sarcasm. This year was getting off to a great start.

Arineaira looked towards the door as another girl walked in. As the trolley moved down the train, the people who haddn't bought anything followed, and thoes who had went back to their compartments. She looked carefully at the girl, she knew she knew her from some where, but she wasn't sure where. “'lo, I’m Rose. Rose Weasley, nice to meet you.”
'That's it. She's another Weasley' she thought. She smiled in reply to Rose's words. She turned back to Dominique, Arineaira was sort of a shy person. But, you would never know it when she was around her friends.
"Oh, Arineaira. This is my cousin, Rose. The one I was just telling you about how much time I spent with her this Summer,"
"Oh, ok. Hi, Rose. I'm Arineaira Taliphillia." she had first spoken to her friend, then to Rose. Dominique and Rose started talking about someone she could only guess was Rose's brother. She sneezed as the cat jumped up and Dominique started petting it, realicing the pet dander into the air for her to breath in. Arineaira made a face, she had never really liked cats. Due to her allergie, she had never really been able to get to close to them; that was the closest she had been to a feline in a while. And, quite frankly, she didn't want to be any nearer. Another sneeze, and a cough followed. She opened her window a crack, and the fresh air flodded in. That was all she needed; some freash air to breath in.
"I think we can continuing threatening to hug Hugo. He'll absolutely be thrilled about that."
Arineaira felt out of place in the conversation between the two cousins. She had never really gotten to know almost all of the Weasley family, she had only ever properly met Dominique, and therefore had no idea who they were talking about. Feeling like a third wheel, she turned her head away from them and looked out the window. She had always felt at home looking at the country side slowly pass the window. The train still hadden't picked up alot of speed, and there for the landscape went rather slow.'All the more better' she thought. The slower the train went, the more she could enjoy the landscape. And enjoying the landscape ment letting her mind wander to things that had happened over the summer.
Rather odd things came into her head: the day her and her father went to London; when they spent a whole week 'late spring cleaning' the house; and that one day when they had gone camping in the North. She smiled at the memory, and continued to gaze out the window.
